7 days before sailing

We are seven days away from sailing. As we get closer, Rick and I are starting to collect things that we will need for our thank you party on the ship. In this cruise, we are celebrating three accomplishments, three birthdays; Rick, Gene and Mike. We are also celebrating two anniversaries Rick and I are celebrating our 23 year anniversary and Sandy and Jorge are celebrating their anniversary. Lastly, Rick and Sandy are also celebrating their retirement. Although, they did not retire in March it's still a big accomplishment so we are celebrating their retirement. Our concierge on this cruise is Mario Reyes. He was our concierge when we sailed the Mediterranean in 2013.  He's nothing like Diego our concierge on the Jewel of the Seas but at least he is a familiar face and he's very nice. The ship we are sailing on is called the Serenade of the Seas. This ship was renovated in 2012 so the Concierge's Lounge is on the 13th deck. I think I'm going to skip my daily garlic fried rice for breakfast 🤣 on this cruise; although, I will probably have steak every night for dinner.  If I stick to just proteins for my meals, maybe I will loose some weight when I get off the ship 😝.  Also started planning wine tasting in Avella Beach in May. Got a great deal through Travel Zoo. So the cruise companies are allowing guests to bring 2 bottles of wine onboard.  We're bringing 2 bottles of Tobin James Fathead. I like that wine. Our friends Mary and Rick introduced us to the wine.   You know when you only have a few days left before you start your vacation and you still have to work that week? You're in one if those moods. The "I don't give a rats ass about this shit mood." I'm there!  I have a conference call today with The ship's Concierge, Group Coordinator and Event Coordinator. They want to make sure that my needs for the thank you party I'm throwing in our suite are met. Apparently, they discontinued having JW Gold on board. The best they can provide me is JW Double Black.  Well, let's see how this call goes today. I hope today's work is also uneventful.😞
